Their religion or sexual preference doesn't matter to me in the slightest. The only thing that matters is where they stand on the issues. So, to answer your question, either one of them if they had the same views as me on the issues.

I suppose it would have more to do with, where they stood on important issues! I don't vote for someone because they have the same religious beliefs or the same sexual preferences. I vote for a person because the issues they a fighting for are ones that make a difference to me and my life!
Now, that isn't to say that their religious beliefs and sexual preferences would not become an issue should they make it so! I will not be forced to change my beliefs if they said I had too and I would not change my sexual preferences because they want to change the law and demand this of me! If this ever became an issue I don't suppose I would be the only one out there with my big fat mouth flapping in protest!!
However, I can't blame a person who uses their beliefs to back their agenda, I just won't vote for them if it doesn't benefit the people.
I'm a bit out spoken and my husband tells me it gets me in a bit of trouble sometimes,.. okay a little more than sometimes..but I do try to keep it down a bit!
So in answer to your question? Yes! I would vote for either one, if it benefits the people!
P.S. Anyone who Knows anything about Political Laws in the U.S.A knows that and illegal resident or anyone who was not born in the United States can never run for President. So the remark about illegal Black woman immigrants for the U.S. is out! I don't know about other countries but if they were smart they would adopted this same tactic.

I would vote for the best candidate.
What bearing would being gay or an athiest have on one person's ability to run a country? A president is not a moral compass, for that you need to turn to a priest, rabbi, imam, pastor, your parents or whatever it is that fills that role for you.

Americans seem to be getting really confused if this question entered into choice . However hopefully not and when they ( as it seems increasingly possible as they are not en masse idiots they will vote the present disaster out and find a just man of his people with a wise and unbigoted team. There has been disaster enough for the world and its people.
Basta! ( enough).

It is not thoughtful voting if the decision is based upon a single issue.

And what great moral issue will you solve with the answer s to this important question? I would have to see where they stood on the issues. of the election. before I would choose either. I don't care what a man does behind closed doors.. it is non of my business. and religious freedom is one of the issues we built this country on you should know that. I would go with who was with the moral issues of the election.

Either one. Neither are really all that important to me, and I'm a moderate conservative Christian (no political party).
What it would depend on is if the rest of their ideals lined up with mine, and if I thought they would make a good, effective leader for our country.
What do their personal beliefs really matter? I don't think they do.

A combination of both would be brilliant!
