Astronauts can breath in space, as you see on tv during space walks. The normal human cannot survive without extra oxygen the oxygen in space is not as high of concentration as the oxygen we are used to breathing.

YES AND NO.

SPACE IS A VACUUM SO BEFORE YOU COULD EVEN BREATHE, YOU WOULD EXPLODE BECAUSE OF THE PRESSURE EQUALISATION BETWEEN YOUR BODY AND THE VACUUM.

However, if you wear a space suit which is specially pressurised you can breathe through the air supply. So, the answer is also YES.

Without a space suit you will explode in seconds due to the pressure in your body vs the absense of pressure in space, so breathing would be the least of your worries.

Breath and pop.... Mwahhaha

Although after reading Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy I'm led to believe that you can take a lungfull of air and live for 30 seconds. Mmmaybe not.

No, there's no air to breathe. That's why astronauts have to wear space suits.

No.You will breathe. However It has to be through a gas mask supported by an oxygen cylinder. Please also note that there is no atmosphere in space. Hence one has to be in space suit all the time to avoid bursting of blood vessals of human body.
