I have heard many rumors from various sources and I want to know if the Pac-10 is expanding to 12 teams? The rumors go that the Pac-10 wants to expand to 12 teams, have 2 confrences and have a champtionship game (like the ACC, Big XII, C-USA, MAC, and SEC). And I am also told that the front runners for the two other spots are Hawaii, San Jose State, Fresno State, and Boise State. Any truth to any of this?

I happen to know that this has been talked about in depth by pac 10 officials. I think alot of people here don't quite understand the entire picture when thinking of teams that have been thought to join. People are referring to teams as "doing good now" or "doing better". Which sport are we talking about? I know most people think about football so I must assume that this is what you are talking about. the entire picture would show that Boise State would not even come close to being invited due to the fact that football is all they have. Lets take Hawaii for ex.....Top 10 in the nation volleyball pretty much every year they ahve exhisted. Football team has made several bowl appearances in the past 10 years. Other sports such as baseball, etc. are also very competative there as well. These are all reasons why they would be ...no scratch that WERE talked to about joining a possible Pac-12 conference. Another team in the mix is BYU and/or CSU.

I have heard this rumor in years past as well, when Fresno State was doing very well this rumor was floating around with them joining the conference along with BYU, or Boise State. Boise State is now doing very well and the rumor again comes around. If the Pac-10 is going to expand they are more than likely going to cannibalize the WAC by taking Boise State, and Fresno State. I cant see them being interested in any other schools out of the WAC or that interested in any other teams from other conferences. Yet if they do take those two schools while it will allow for them to have a conference title game, it will take away from some of the other sports they play like Basketball. So I doubt that its actually getting kicked around by anyone beyond fans of the Pac-10.

Boise St and BYU. both have proved to be competetive in line with annum. The SEC is OVER-RATED. The percent10 needs help. The very last 2 years has shown that the skills is being spread everywhere and renowned human being colleges and small colleges can compete on an same field. i'm all in want of a few new blood contained in the best 10 and some new tournament united statescontained in the nationwide Championship recreation.

I have not heard any rumors to that effect. However, it would be in their best interest to do so The PAC-10 needs to establish two divisions and have a playoff at the end of the season. I would like to see Boise State and BYU join the fray.

Not to my knowledge...but Hawaii seems like it is a bit far away for being in a primarily Californian conference (Of course, there wouldn't really be any other conference for them to join).
