People that feel the need to constantly denigrate others tend to be insecure themselves, and girls sometimes accuse someone else of something that they are insecure about themselves - I'll bet that the girl picking on you is lacking in confidence and is trying to make herself feel better - why not try asking her directly "You know that I don't have greasy hair, why do you keep picking on me?" or 'I know you dont really mean that, why can't we be friends?' - Shell probably respect you more for sticking up for yourself - some of the best friends started out as enemies!

I can tell you first hand don't ignore their behavior. People take that as if it's ok to talk about you because you won't stand up for yourself. For some reason it's called "human behavior" and people join in. Definately say something. Intelligent so as not to stoop to their level. Then find some new friends.

You ignore the morons, re-define your ideas of what makes a mate, and then go out and find some real ones.

people who talk behind your back and say hurtful things are not true friends.
unfortunately, standing up for yourself will probably make these dorks pick on you even more. that's just the way people are for some stupid reason. just ignore them and find some nice friends.
good luck!!

the first answer (liz) has hit the nail on the head
people who talk about you behind your back are usually jealous of you in some way

ignore them...they may be "mates" but they certainly aren't "friends"

my advice is to get new Friends
good Friends never do this i know all about that is horrible you feel as if everyone one is talking about you
you r doing the right thing by ignoring it they are probably waiting to see your reaction
YOU REALLY NEED TO GET NEW FRIENDS
sorry if that offends if it were me i would bin them

ignore it, or stand up for yourself and asked them why they are being such b.i.t.c.h.e.s.
Consider getting some true mates - because real mates shouldnt treat you like this and speak behind your back.

It doesn't matter who you are, once you leave a group (even for a minute) you get talked about. Just forget about it and enjoy life.
