I am returning home from Iraq and will be taking a trip at the Bellagio in Dec. Can i get free upgrades or discounts for my service?

Here are a couple of ways to improve your chances...
1-you say you're going in December, go after the National Finals Rodeo which ends the 9th and before the weekend before Christmas...This year that is the 10th until the 22nd, this is the slowest time of the year in Las Vegas and occupancy rates are at there lowest..If they don't have empty rooms they can't give you one...Avoid weekends if you can, especially the 8th and 9th and of course New years weekend, you would have very little or no chance that weekend...
2-Explain the situation to the desk clerk and "allow" him/her to find the solution..Better yet have your wife/GF do the explaining, as in "my husband is home from Iraq on leave. We came to Las Vegas a couple years ago and all he could talk about is how beautiful the Bellagio is..So I set this up as a surprise for him, I know I reserved (room X?) I was wondering if you might have something available with a nice view" ...Put it in such a way that you allow them to do you a favor, you would be surprised how often this works. I would say in your case, if it was at all possible they would come up with something special for you.. Don't get upset if they(desk clerk) can't, check into the room. Then have your wife/GF talk to the desk manager, in person. He has a little more power when it comes to turning loose certain rooms. Be sure to mention that the desk clerk was helpful/polite(whatever) Be nice, say something like "the room is beautiful, it's just that I was hoping for(?) > a view overlooking the fountains..Again, "allow" him/her to do you a favor..
I would hope they would give you the best of whatever they have available...Don't expect a high roller suite, that's just about out of the question, but, a nice view, a spa suite, those are possibilities...

Officially, I don't know but I would hope so! You certainly deserve it. I'd definitely call or email and ask.
