My wife doesn't ask or expect me not to be friends with people of the opposite sex. I'd talk to my spouse about it & just tell him/her that this is a friend. Personally, I have many female friends -from work & from playing tennis, and we talk about things in our lives quite a bit but there's no intention of having sex with each other (even though I find some of them quite attractive). If you & your spouse can't be logical about it, I think it may eventually cause problems due to resentment. If it was the other person's spouse, they really should talk it out -but then, if you can't talk to that person you can't tell him/her that.

Ah,my heart goes out to you.
No,my hubby will never mind me talking to the opposite sex, since we are gay.
But I have loads of male friends too.
It has never been a problem, since we are in a very committed relationship and totally trust each other.
Good that you got over it.
maybe next time you can become best friends with an other guy,
I wish you the best of luck:Rob.xxxx

I have and my boyfriend has yet to ask me to stop because he's secure in knowing that we're just friends and nothing more. We talk about nonsense bullsh't plus we work together and you can't just not talk. I think as long as you make sure your mate is feeling secured that you aren't cheating or anything there shouldn't be a problem. Most times when something like that happens it's jealousy and you aren't making sure your mate knows your aren't interested in them as another mate but only as a friend.

I believe you become good friends w/ the opposite sex because there is an attraction there. I don't think it's "normal" to have agood friend the opposite sex when you're married.
