What week a baby's sex be know via ultra sound scan.?

I am 18 weeks pregnant and I want to know the sex of my unborn child. Had a scan last week 17.2 and couldnt really see if its a boy or girl.

i was 23 weeks pregnant when i went for my detailed scan and they told me i was having a girl. you can tell from 20 weeks

Firstly congratulations, by week 15 the baby's genitals are developed and there is a possibility that it can be seen by ultrasound, but remember its only a educated guess its not able to guarantee you the correct sex. They normally give you the option if you want to find out at your routine scan during 18-20 weeks. The older the pregnancy the better view, but you can't always tell as the baby needs to be sitting in the right spot to have a nice clean view.

My experiences are with my son I was told at 18 weeks it was a boy and it was correct, with my daughter I was told at 20 weeks it was a girl and she was. This time I was told it is a girl, but I think its a boy. Going by the ring test its a boy and that has also been right every time. My sister in-law was told she was having a boy, the ring test said it was a girl and she had a girl.

16 weeks is the earliest a sonographer would be able to pick the sex of the baby up. That would also depend on how experienced he/she is. 18 weeks is a good time for seeing the sex of the baby as its just the right size..not too big or small. Are you having any more scans?? Where I live (UK) they scan normally at 20 weeks.

I was told with all of my children between 14 and 18 weeks but i know they get a better scan pic at 20weeks and there is not excuse at 20weeks for them not to know the sex, ask your doc to do the wiggle test on your tummy at your next scan if everything shakes on the screen and you know where is wiggleing than its a boy if no wiggle you got a girl, i have had 4 children and its worked everytime.

hiya i went for my gender scan at 17 + 3days and you could see clearly hes a boy,
however saying that alot of the result depends on the experience of the technician doing the scan and position of the baby. I'm guessing your bundle of joy was being shy.
or maybe she is a baby girl i was told its harder to see a female genitals at this stage
boys are sort of obvious!!

I had one at 14 weeks to check on the baby's heartbeat and the technician said she was pretty sure it was a boy. She pointed out the necissary parts for me and I agreed with her. This was confirmed at my 20 week u/s when it was even more obvious that it was a boy. :D

well normally you can tell the sex of the baby at about 20 weeks ppl will try to tell you that it is sooner then that but that is very unlikely. 20 weeks is 5 months so yeah . that is about the time doc's will tell you but some ppl are diff it may be sooner or later well i wish you all the best good luck and conrats

Your doctor should be able to tell at 16 weeks (four months)it depends on how the baby is positioned.

they look at about 20 weeks i think that they can see it at 18 weeks but they don't do the ultersound till about 20 weeks. good luck and congrats on the baby

i remaber that i think i was 16 weeks when they could tell when they showed me where the head of the pinces was i was like where i could not see if so i wasn't sure what i was haveing till i had him well i wish you luck and my blessing of you and ur unborn child
