Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS), as an
autonomous organization of the Ministry, focuses on
works for the non-student rural youth. NYKS was
set up in April, 1987 with the aim of making the
rural youth capable of assuming leadership locally
and to undertake welfare and community
development activities. NYKS has its network in 500
districts and it works through village based
organizations called Youth Clubs and Mahila Mandals
across the length and breadth of the country.
