I think so, but I also think the Tungsten E2 is about $100 cheaper and will do all the things the TX will do except connect to the internet. If you don't need that sort of connectivity, the E2 is cheaper and physically smaller.
Actually you can buy accessories to get your E2 online, but they are a pain to use and cost extra. If you need online/commnications stuff the TX is better.
But for $399, you can buy a Palm Treo 700p from Verizon, it does ALL the things the TX does plus it's a camera phone (both STILL and Video). I just got one, I like it a lot because I only have to carry one little device not two.

No, get a Palm Zire 72, has a mic and camera built in, at any rate the mic itself is very useful.
