Did you watch it, what did you think? and would you like to see it return as a series again.

I am a Royle family fan, and yes, I did watch it last night. In my opinion, it wasn't one of the best episodes, I feel that they were trying to cram in too much at once, first nana had moved in, then she was ill, then she was dying, Denise is preggers, then she's had the baby, then there was nanas funeral, and Cheryl's quest for love. It was all too much. The Royle Family was so successful because nothing really happened, it was just a family sitting round watching tv, and chatting, that was its secret. Having said that, I would like it if they make a new series, so long as they stick to the original format.

The programme is called The 'Royle' Family, and I'd really rather not think about Ricky Tomlinson's hairy a*se, thankyou.
I think Caroline Ahearne has run out of ideas. Last night was a 20 minute programme squeezed into an hour. The dancing had been done before, and the nan dying went on too long (though it was quite moving)
Nah, leave it as it is, and let's all go and do something less boring instead.

Excellent. Funny, poignant and sad. Can't understand how the subtelties of the series('s) are lost on so many people! Don't suppose they like Catherine Tate either. Going back in time - Love thy neighbour, and the one and only Alf Garnett, were brilliant also - and honest too....just like the aforementioned Royle Family. (Spelt correctly).

I must admit, I wasn't a fan. Some of it was funny, but I just didn't find it interesting enough to watch a full episode, never mind a whole series.

I did not find last nights special particularly funny .
It was much better 6 years ago I personally consider the formula a little stale now.

Patchy northern comedy....some absolute genius moments in it, but a lot of repetition for me....
