Customer Charter Refunds:

London Underground (LU) will pay you the cost of one single journey (£3) if you are delayed by more than 15 minutes due to their mess up! Of course what they actually define as their screw up is rather debatable, but in practice I have had all my claims paid.

The best way is to do it online here:

Rember the delay has to be more than 15 minutes, so keep a close eye on how you fill the form in. Also if you use an Oyster card remember that they know what time you entered and left a station. Not sure if they are allowed to check this here but they can do it.

The payment is in the form of a £3 voucher that you can use on the Underground or add to your Oyster card. It has to be "spent" at a tube station and cannot be used at ticket stops or newsagents.

if your journey was delayed by more than 15 mins and you still have the ticket then collect a compensation form when you leave and fill it out, i think it takes about 3 weeks to actually get anything back
