Oh yeah...I sure did. I was in a slit trench on excercise one autumn in 1968. We were dug in to a sand dune that had these prickly bushes growing out of them so you had to pretty well stand erect in the middle of your trench when not sleeping in your shelter.

Well, I was a young buck, stupid to beat all. A Sr. NCO found my sleeping bag where it shouldn't have been so it disappeared for the night. With no place to sleep, I got to stand in the middle of that trench as the night got colder. The wind picked up every time I lost my balance I'd fall against the side of the trench - sticking myself with those damn bushes.

Well, one time I dozed off and woke up - but I wasn't in my trench. It was pitch black and I was in the forrested area at the bottom of the dunes.

Realizing I must have rolled out of my trench I decided to make my way up to our defensive position. As I approached the top I was challenged and couldn't remember the password. Well, all hell broke loose. The sky lit up and there was rifle and machine gun fire coming from everywhere. (good thing it was an excercise with blank ammo)

Needless to say, I quickly rolled back down the hill and shook in the shadows while I tried to remember the password. I did remember it eventually. I also decided to move down the line a bit as I hadn't recognized the position when I got near the top.

This time I did make it. And I eventually found my trench again. I was totally baffled as to how I got so far away without knowing it.

Back in position I found myself dozing again and again a woke up out of my trench, but this time it was to the Lieutenant who asked, "soldier...where the #$@% are you going?" Realizing I had no real answer I replied, "I'm going to the can sir!" I then took that great leap off the top and rolled down the side of the hill tangling myself in low wire and communication lines. In the distance I could here the young Lt. laughing his head off...I was sleep walking!!!!!!

Ive fallen asleep in alot of places that I shouldnt have like class or church, but I cant remember any really really odd places Ive fallen asleep. When I was younger and my mom would make me get up for school, I was so tired that Id take my pillow and blankets into the bathroom, lock the door, turn the shower on, and go to sleep on the floor. My mom thought I was getting ready and I got some extra sleep before I got into the shower. Sometimes I fell asleep on the floor in the shower too. I guess thats kind of weird.
An instructor of mine used to sleep in his closet, though he did that on purpose.

I woke up in the passenger side of my car in front of my apartment complex with my seat belt still on and my keys in my lap and I had no idea how I got there. Needless to say, I quit drinking so much after that. Found out later a friend of mine drove me home.

No, I haven't but my husband has fallen asleep on the toilet at work! He said when he woke up he had all crease marks over his face where he'd been resting his head on his hands! Slight giveaway!
