That depends on the definition of a developed country, and who is evaluating India as a developed country or not. As far as I believe, India is a developed country by means of being able to protect its borders and with hold the country-name of India. It's a developed country as opposed to an anarchic ... piece of land.

Never. In a country where more than 100,000 women are killed every year because husband is not happy with dhowry, it would be very unlikely to see it become another China for example.
