Find out what organization over sees Lawyers in your state. In my state, it's called the Board of Bar Overseers, they are a strong organization and whatever state your in will have one, they can and will be glad to investigate things like this. They have the power to suspend or disbar an attorney that fails to follow through with care responsibility's. Find out the name of it first, then maybe write a letter to the attorney telling him if he fails to contact you with the case status you will report him to that organization. I promise you he will contact you right away.

You should be able to contact the court where the case was filed and ask for the documents already filed, if I was you I would also seek an appointment with the attorney and insist that you get to speak to him and actually hear what he has accomplished. I would say the way he is acting that the judge refused to see the case or he needs money that you don't have to pay him. Just ask him to be truthful.

For 6 years? Civil Case? That's interesting. If you were charged with possession of drugs, then it must be a criminal case. Even if you are appealing, it is still criminal, as it is the State who is bringing the charges against you, especially given that you were found "Not Guilty," a verdict not present in civil cases, but that's neither here nor there.

Go directly to your lawyer's office and request for your case files, or book a meeting with your lawyer. Otherwise, you can go directly to the court and ask for your public case records.

Why don't you walk into thier office and demand to see them.. Don't leave till you do.. It is terrible to see this attorney stuffing you around.. You should sue them for wasting your time..
