The Earth Science section is for rational thinking, not irrational "faith". Keep doubting.

"My response is that when Creationists talk about God creating every individual species as a separate act, they always instance hummingbirds, or orchids, sunflowers and beautiful things. But I tend to think instead of a parasitic worm that is boring through the eye of a boy sitting on the bank of a river in West Africa, [a worm] that's going to make him blind. And [I ask them], 'Are you telling me that the God you believe in, who you also say is an all-merciful God, who cares for each one of us individually, are you saying that God created this worm that can live in no other way than in an innocent child's eyeball? Because that doesn't seem to me to coincide with a God who's full of mercy."

I don't know how this got into Earth Sciences and Geology, but I'll do my best.

Having doubts is hardly a mortal sin. I know several priests who have had doubts, but manage to resolve them without affecting their faith.

Ask questions, seek answers. Talk to people of other faiths without being critical, it will not weaken your own faith. It may just make you a more tolerant person.

Remember the parable of the Good Samaritan. It was an answer to the question "who is my neighbour?". The answer was not the Priest or the Levite, it was the man who showed more mercy, in this case, the person who was different, and a sworn enemy. In this parable, Jesus is telling us that your actions toward others define you more clearly than your beliefs.

The answer may not be to be more religious, but to be more merciful and tolerant.

Read the Bible and pretend it's the word of God. If someone questions that, tell them that the Bible itself says it itself is the word of God and the word of God can't be wrong. If they call you on it, say it's Faith. Also, stay away from intelligent questions like: if God is all-powerful and could forgive our sins in an eyeblink, was Jesus's death unnecessary or for fun/show/sadism? Generally, just get caught up in the warm fuzzy feeling that a very large and powerful father-figure like guy is watching over every moment of your life and making sure things are OK. And try not to think.

Immerse yourself in the Word. Schedule times to read the Bible. Get fellowship with other Christians to read and discuss the Bible.
Find a church that appeals most to you and become a member if you already aren't. If you don't find one then that's fine too. Tune in to christian channels when you can. Hope I helped.
