Because its just the way society is. You can sell practically anything if you put a good beat to it. And, sex sells. It's sad that people who have so much influence on society's youth use that influence to yak about the most frivolous things.
AND some of those rappers you're talking about sometimes DO rap about important or "conscious" issues, but it never gets any airplay because the radio stations wont play it....sad, but true.
I've pretty much given up on new rap.
Brainwash much? Most of it sounds like crap anyway.

Because it's the shallow who buy it. And because most shallow people by rap, it's bad business now to make good rap.
There's still great rap out there, but shallow people don't want that. They want to hear about big t*ts and cash, not about anything real anymore. The few that like great, deep rap aren't enough to sell to. Which is why rap is dead, a joke, just noise you hear in da clubs to shake your booty to, nothing more.

Sex and Money sells. Especially to rapper's audiences.
Well, you can always turn to classic musics for a more positive mind.

because corporate America is all about money. and they promote the ignorance more than they promote the talent. their is plenty of diversity in hip hop. but is the corporations who decides who they will back and who's song will be on the radio 20 times a day. and because hip hop is predominately black, I think they only want to promote our ignorance. to help fuel the stereotypes against us. not to say rappers don't have to take responsibility for their actions.
