Hard to tell. Lennon wrote very surreal lyrics, like "I Am the Walrus", "Glass Onion", and "Strawberry Fields Forever".
Paul, however, wrote very direct songs, but with beautiful lyrics. Like "Got to Get You Into My Life" and "Yesterday".
If you're going for pure fantasy-style poetry, Lennon takes it.
If you're going for direct lyrics that really get to you on the first listen, McCartney wins.
