I've never tried planting the supermarket potatoes, but if it sprouted, and you've planted it, just wait until the little flowers appear, that will mean that little potatoes started growing. My grandpa was planting potatoes every year around the beginning of April, and first young potatoes were appearing around July.

You can plant store potatoes. They aren't always optimal for growing in a particular situation like seed potatoes would be, but they obviously grow. However, for a better harvest, you should have been mounding around the base as it grew taller.

you will have potatoes there but you must wait until the plant dies.
normally you need to mound the dirt up high & plant in that ...slice off pieces of potato with the eye & plant those as well as its cheaper than using the whole potato
good gardening to you

Yes, I believe that is how potato plants are grown, and you might have some potatoes underneath. Have fun!

According to this website, probably not. Then again, you did start with seed pieces, and if you're not suspicious of the potatoes as the site recommends you should be of them, maybe they are harvestable.

Good luck.
