It was desperately touching - worse than her dying was when she was asking her daughter whether she'd been a burden and told her she loved her - I'm filling up just thinking about it. By far the best line though was when Nana was talking about her new Doctor - Dr Mahmoud. She said 'He's a Pakistani you know -but he's very open about it...' !!!! Fantastic!

I saw it last night and cried with both laughter and tears. I never expected nana to die and it was very well done!
Caroline Aherne and Craig Cash have not disappointed, they are still fantastic writers and comedy geniuses.
Craig Cash's son who played little David was great and looks just like his dad!
Best line of the show was at nana's funeral when someone said to Barb, "She was alive right till the end!" a great line to stop the tears of sadness and turn them into laughter! I could hardly reathe through laughing!

Somebody tells us it's an 'acquired taste'...wot - funny sounding oiks from the provinces making the C2DE's laugh their wee nuts off (which TV producers are not hell bent on doing...just Trisha, Jeremy and the other dears to show us all what the working class are like nowadays).
Like it or not, there's nothing that irks the general population (the section who have their wee noses super-glued to their rears day and night) than true life - especially from the so-called 'commoners'. Only managed to watch the last third of it, and never a truer word was said when Peter Kay told us The Royle Family will be seen as a classic people will turn to time and time again in years to come.
The funniest shine to this is that the main two performers hail from the city 34 miles west...and if anyone knows about the Scouse-Manc wars over the past few generations, that's perhaps the cleverest ruse in the whole shebang!

What a shame it was only a one off special. It reminded me just how much I love that show. How many comedies can you think of that make you laugh and cry at the same time ?? Total brilliance we need more British comedies like that.

Asbo 'arry! Know what you mean about the snobbishness of some, but you're not supposed to make sociological comments on it. This is not that kind of question, and your tongue-in-cheek answer seems to have confused at least 75%!

Nobody paid me so no I didn't watch it, it is foul. How can anybody find it funny? If someone could explain the so called humour in making fun of the poor and feckless maybe I could appreciate it. but somehow I don't think so.
