Not all raccoons like to eat pumpkins, that's just a stereotype. Shame on you for buying in to that nonsense. Some of my best friends are raccoons and they would probally be offeneded by such a speciest question. But since you are Kelly Bundy, I suppose I could forgive you, just this once.

Want to make sure that the wildlife will leave your pumpkins alone? Put some bleach in a spray bottle, and spray it around the pumpkins - NOT on them. It will keep most animals at bay, although neighborhood dogs might try to mark their territory near them.

I would think them to be safe, my backyard is literally a forest and I have never had nor seen a pumpkin destroyed by racoons
