Yes. He was a charismatic revolutionary leader, and aide to Fidel Castro who overthrew the Cuban dictator Fulgencio Batista in 1959. Argentine born, he continued in his efforts to spread revolution throughout Latin America after Castro took power with less success and was captured and executed on the spot by Bolivian armed forces in the mountains of Bolivia in 1967.
Of course since then, he has become a cult hero for revolutionary, freedom and popular resistance movements throughout the world.

He was a hero and a legend to his people. He was a Dr. From Argentina who gave up his life to move to Cuba and join Castro in overthrowing Batista. Communism in practice is a failure as a form of government. He however believed in the theory that all people should be equal and share in the societies wealth. At the time of Batista's rule, Cuba was one of the poorest countries in the world. He had a hand in giving the poor a chance to thrive. He was absolutely a hero to the people of Cuba during and after the revolution and remained one after his death.
