It is not as simple as saying God is in control. There are so many religions around the word, and each one proclaims that their God is in control of things. There is no point in debating which God is the real God, and it would be small minded to say that someone elses God is false. We dont really know the answer, and can only hope, when we leave this world for good, that we chose the right one to follow. But for all you Christians out there (Obviously the question was asked by a christian), the answer is this. In the Bible, Jesus said God only helps thpse who helps themselves. So from a christian standpoint, we must be proactive, whilst still following all of the other teachings of christ. Our actions should be with the intent to help those who cannot help themselves, and to avoid killing etc unless there is no other option. I will leave it to others to decide if that has actually happened. Finally, You dont walk across a highway with cars zooming past you and leave it up to god to keep you safe, you simply look both ways or find a safer place to cross.

If people truly followed the teachings of God there would be, no war. So all this talk about religion is irrelevant. God does not condone the cutting off of heads in his name. God does not condone lying a country into war. It's time to stop this madness.
It would be interesting to find out how any innocent Iraq's were killed in a year under Saddam and how many have been killed since the war started? We have about the same number of troops killed now in the war, as the terrorists killed in the WTC.
We may have taken it to another country, but Americans are still being killed. How many politicians have children or spouses in the war?

because religious fundamentalist are crazy. and the muslim and christian god [im assuming you mean the christian god] is really the same god in judism, christianity, and muslims. so theyre pretty much like "brothers"; branches of the same god.

also...in sam harris's book "end of faith" he made a good point. lets say you where a muslim living in the middle east. you WORSHIP like theres no tmarrow and your COMPLETLY and ABSOLUTLY devoted to allah. but for some reason all your prayers are unanswered and yet the PAGANS in the americas are full of WEALTH and POWER! it will make you at least a little angry or jealuse. and these are the 2 basics for hate. esp in a country without as much schooling and racial tolerance like the americas.

We know God is in control but has anyone told Bin Laden. He thinks his God is in control.
