Did anyone else does that? I do, but I'm wondering if anyone else does... and if you did, what was the truth?

The truth never hurts me. It is when people keep things from me and I am the last one to find out, then is when I am hurt. Keeping me in the dark until the very last minute or until things are too late, I resent that way more than if someone tells me the truth.

My best friend will tell me the "truth" about myself at times. Sometimes, I am glad that he is open and honest with me; other times, he will accuse me of things or say he knows what I'm thinking or feeling, and he has no idea. I find that to be very hurtful as well.

All the same, I would rather know the truth rather be kept in the dark, and then have problems eventually explode in my face. People who say they didn't tell me something because "they didn't want to hurt my feelings," are the ones I resent the most when they keep something from me. That means they knew something and kept me in the dark. To me, that is the cruelest thing of all.

So, to answer your question: no, the truth doesn't hurt me, withholding the truth hurts me.

we're all humans and sometimes the subconcious thinks its too painful to handle something that it withdraws us back, hence such diorders like schizphrenia, multiple personality disorder, depression and so on are ultimately examples of how one can be too afraid to face the truth until such devastating problem occurs.

i've been faced witht he same predicament before, situations where i prefer to ignore the problem or not acknowledge it,but, and trust me when i say it,it doesn't help at all-sooner or later we all have to face our troubles and cry, scream or respond accordingly to them-because keeping them buried only represses rage and anger, and doesn't help with anything.
