I am 13 and need to make some money. I am going to rake some yards in the neighborhood, but I don't know how much to charge. I am only allowed to do front yards for safety reasons. I was thinking $ 15 a yard, but I really have no idea.

I was thinking more like $5.
I guess I'm cheap. :-P

It would depend on how large the yard is.
For a small yard, I would begin the charge at $5.00.
I would add additional charges for the following:
Removing the leaves from the property.
Cleaning out the street and drains.
In my neighborhood, most folks pay a little more if you are charging less than others. And if you are a good worker, we will ask you to return and help with other projects.

I'd probably give you $10 for my size yard. Thats about 50' length and 20' wide. I'd use that as your scale and work up for bigger jobs.

You should charge $15.00 per small yards and $20.00 for medium and higher per large front yards plus charge for the amount of time it will take to finish the job.

It doesn't matter how old you are...LABOR IS LABOR, and you should be compensated for your time and effort....a TIP, in addition, won't hurt.
