Yes, and he should be no matter what your relationship is. My ex-girl friend didn't put me down and now I have to pay out a bunch of money to get my name there. Money that should be spent on my baby girl.

Yes I had one 10 months ago same thing and the father is on the birth certificate. After you have the baby just tell them who is the father when you are doing the birth certificate. But first you will both have to sign a paternity affadavit stating that you both have no question that he is the father.
Then they will make the "official" certificate with both of your names on it.
You have up until 6 weeks for you both to sign the affadavit.
If he doesn't sign it, then you gotta get a paternity test to prove it and then he will be on the birth certificate if it comes out positive.

Yes, as long as he signs it. If he refuses to sign the birth certificate, then you have to have a DNA test and after it is proven to be his, you then don't have to have his signature to put his name on the certificate. In some cases if the father refuses to sign it can end up in court because of child support and all. Hopefully your situation is not like the last part of this answer. I went through the second situation about 12 years ago.

Of course, the only thing that is different on the birth certificate is you name is different to your partners, You are allowed to name your baby after your partner, I have two children out of wedlock and I got married in June so this baby will be the only child born in wedlock. There is no difference except this baby will be born with the same last name as s/he will keep. My other children were born under my name as its baby of...... then given their name they have now.

Yes, absolutely. I was born out of wedlock, and my father's name is on my birth certificate. (And this was 30 years ago.)

Yes, definitely, although he may ask for proof of paternity before putting his name down. It's a good idea because if he wants to be involved it will protect his legal right as a father in case of an accident etc.

Yes, if you know the father regardless of marriage status he should be on the certifacate If he is not, you would have to prove paterninty (dna test) to ever be able to get child support. Put the dad on! Hope that helps

the biological father should be on the birht certificate. as in, make sure you put it there. it will protect you in legal matters in the future and the child should know its parents. also, make sure you do have the correct father, because it is confusing for a child to one day be told that the man they thought was their father is not. i know, i was told that.
