I am half Filipino, too. My mom's Japanese and my dad was a Filipino (just passed away 5 May 2006). I was just there twice in the last 12 months (first because my dad became seriously ill), then for his funeral. My mom is still in the Philippines (Baguio City) -- I would recommend anyone going to the Philippines to visit Baguio. If I was to live there, I'd go to Baguio and not any other places (too humid and warm for me!). Anyway, other than the beaches, cheap stuff (anything that you can think of), and the women (Lol), I did not like the Philippines too much! I was born in Japan, then moved to the Philippines when I was 9, until I graduated from college (then signed up for the US Air Force -- in Clark Air Base before it closed). So I am pretty familiar with the Philippines. A lot of people I know really LOVED the Philippines, especially the Americans, since the Filipinos LOVE the Americans (I guess so they could get out of the Philippines). I am Filipino-Japanese, so I look like a typical Filipino, and although I have US citizenship, I don't "announce" that I am US citizen, so the Filipinos treated me like a Filipino? Did that make sense? Even if everything was cheaper there, I don't think I'm going back there when I retire. So that's what I think of the Philippines. By the way, I was stationed in Panama (before all the US bases closed there as well), and the people there are exactly the same as the Filipinos. I guess it has something to do with the weather? Did not like it either (but most of Americans loved it...)

I think Filipino people are very kind. They're hard working, religious and family oriented. Many of the women are very pretty too.
The Philippines is famous for it's beaches. Boracay is suppose to be incredible!
The economy is bad and many people try to get jobs elsewhere. People who live in the Philippines have a tough life.
There seems to be a lot of natural disasters that occur in the Philippines.

I don't know about all foreigners but how about from the USA. I am Caucasian my grandmother and grandfather left Los Angeles in 1903 and spent 23 years in the P.I.'s teaching school and building infrastructure. My father was born in Manila and his 3 brothers and raised in San Fernando pom panga (I hope I spelled that right). I was raised on the stories of the P.I.'s from just after the Spanish-American War through WW II and have heard that the Filipino people are courageous, friendly and deeply rooted in religion and family. The Philippines have been our friends for over 100 years and I have personally been there and have seen for myself what a beautiful place the country and its people are.

I have never been to the country, but the little bit that I have seen on news and te net it seems that it is an incredibly beautifull place.
The economy seems somewhat buggered, but the high levels of litteracy and generally well qualified people is something we ONLY wish for here in South Africa.
The people are GWAPO and GWAPA ! and incredibly friendly. I would not mind living there.

I live in Cleveland, Ohio, USA. I have several friends who are Filipino and came over to the USA. They are wonderful people. One of my friends married an American man. He is Caucasian, so when they have children, the children will be half Filipino too!

I hate them but love them at the same time. I have too much to describe why i love them but i'll write down what i dont like anout them. I HATE their crab mentality, back stabbing people, fake smiles, butthurt when other people tell the truth about the problem of their country, no back bone, all talk no walk, colonial mentality, chauvinists, are proud of being filipino but force themselves that they have HISPANIC blood. Too much pride but cant back it up for them selves. LOVES to take pride for someone else's work.

I am American who lives in Thailand but have visited PI several times. I think it's a great place with great people, though have to admit I don't like the food.
Also, too bad your politics are so screwed up, but it could be worse, you could have George W. Bush for president!
