Politicians are power hungry people & the most corrupt tend to become the most powerful.
They use their position to influence their personal wealth & position. Politics in all countries is corrupt, some more obvious than others.
All things to all men? Most don't even consider their fellow man except at election time. Then it's lies & false promises & plenty of fake smiles.

Lol! Got a point there. Think of all the power you'll get and the unlimited resources of everything... so why can't they corrupt? Sigh... I think corruption won't be changed. I just hope that those who corrupt will just do their job as public servants and make great changes in return; because unfortunately, in some countries, they just corrupt and do nothing at all.

i think your probably right, how can they please everyone? they simply can't but they must be seen to try to. Everybody is always campaigning for there own best interests so if one section of society is seen to be given more resources over another, then the government are said to be doing it for there own best interests for example giving pensioners more money because they are to people most likely to vote and keep them in power.

In some senses i think the following phrase stands.
'power corrupts but absolute power corrupts absolutely''

That is an interesting point you have made. You know someone once said the "the quickest way to failure is to try and make everybody happy."
