Gothica was pretty good.
The Sixth Sense was the best since
Silence of the Lambs.
Texas Chainsaw Massecre (Original)
Lost Boys
Saw
Stepford Wives (The remake was even kinda cool)
Ginger Snaps
The Ring
Night of the Living Dead
Scream was okay
Tim Burton's stuff is really good, but it's not really scary.
Stay away from;
The Wicker Man (remake)
Any horror movie remake really
Blair Witch Project (it's not really bad, but not great either)
The Haunting

Depends on how much horror you want, but you can never go wrong with the original Halloween. Then you also have some other great ones like Sleepy Hollow for the ambiance, Nightmare Before Christmas for the oddness, original Poltergeist for flat out horror.
