Well if the animals are cold blooded they'll slow down in the cold and be able to move around better in the hot. That's why you don't see lizards and snakes in the winter. Some animals grow more fur during the cold.

As for plants, well look around in the fall, the leaves turn and... fall look around yourself and see what changes occur around your house.
