I am currently 13 weeks pregnant and sufferring from severe diarrhea. Its the type where you basically run to the toilet with a stomach pain to go at least 3-5 times a day? I have been to the doctor and Im awaiting test results, but wanted to know if this was normal or anyone else had the same? Some people tell me its the hormones causing it?

During my first pregancy I never suffered from this, but the second time around oh boy. i had it from 8 weeks until about 12 weeks. I was worried so i went to the doctors about it at about 9 weeks. He gave me a blood test that didn't show anything nasty, so he put it down to the hormone thing. I just had to make sure that i kept my fluids up and I also had to drink gastrolyte a few times a day. This is bought in the chemist over the counter in sachets. i suggest that you get some of this as it replaces everything that you lose with diarrhea. Hopefully it will pass soon. Have you been to the doctors about it? if not you better, just to be sure!

Well, I didn't experience that, but everybody's body changes differently during pregnancy. And like people have told you, it's probably the hormones your body is producing now. I'm glad you had the tests run though, it's always best to get things like that checked as soon as you can. Hopefully as you approach your second trimester your body will adjust and you will feel better, in fact most women feel the worst during the first trimester. this is an excellent site about pregnancy:

I dont recall having that .... are you eating well and often?
go see your doctor.
I get those symptoms during labor big time, and everyone's pregancy is different, in this case because youre carrying a baby, it is best to address with the doctor for your and baby's safety.
with something like this, you may be able to call the OBGyn, and inquire over the phone, and if they think it neccessary they will have you go in.....

i had this concern early on this being pregnant..i used to be ill always..if i did not have diarrhea i used to be throwing up. i did not have any health problem in my first being pregnant. finally the health problem went away. i would handiest consume bland meals for the primary three months like dry toast, Cheerios, and so forth. i did not attain any weight till approximately four weeks in the past..i went from no longer watching pregnant to watching pregnant over night time. it'll get bigger. :)
