Yes.

To be more specific, USA is a huge consumerist society.

Though it hardly manufactures anything now. Yet, it is the largest pollutor. Also the largest debtor.

Class action against this bully needs to be taken soonest.

25% cess on all goods and services emanating from this country is a good idea, to begin with.

Sometimes when I come on here I wonder why. What is wrong with you people that you think that it is funny, interesting ro even polite to always dig at the Americans?

I see SUV's and trucks polluting the UK as well. Didn't Richmond just levy a hefty parking rate on them for this? What about all the planes that leave here eah day? Maybe the US pollutes in some ways but so does eveywhere else and if you take land mass into consideration the UK has been shown to waste more energy than Spain, France, Germany etc.
So my advise...people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

Although I do like the first answer and lets just line them up and spank them heh.

I think that a tax should be put on goods from any country that pollutes and is not making efforts to reduce its pollution. This would also include countries like India, China and Russia. perhaps then they would start to take an interest in the planet. Only when it hits them in the pocket does it matter to governments.

The premise is valid; the suggestion, ridiculous. If you were serious about the matters of global warming & pollution, become involved and proactive in your protests.
