Start by asking yourself," If I were to rewrite this book, what would I change?"
Was the book realistic? Did the author give me enough information? Were parts too detailed or not detailed enough?
Was the book historically correct (if it is a novel).
By finding out what you think you would change, you are putting your finger on what you think are weaknesses in the book. Remember, just because you like the book and think it is well written does not mean there are no weaknesses at all.
You might start by writing:
XXXX BOOK was an excellent book and I thoroughly enjoyed it. However there were a few weaknesses in the book which I would change. ----Then explain the two or three weaknesses you found, and end by saying that these changes would turn the book from good to excellent.
Good luck!

find the failures in it,since this is a historical thing, figure out what the angles are on any characters of whatever time period you are studying, what were the consequences of their actions and why,and how did the outcome of an event make what happened ,happen. How could it have been different if(the persons good and bad traits etc etc etc)...you gave us a vague question so I hope this leads you in the right way
