4 years ago, my health class teach showed us a recorded "documentory" that Fox aired claiming we never landed on the moon. I but documentory in quotes because it was the worst journalism I ever saw, totally one sided and the NASA "expert" they had was a paid actor. After the film, the whole class exept me and another classmate DIDN'T change our minds that we landed on the moon. Talk about about gaulable people. That was the audience the "documentory" was targeting.

Here are some "arguments" you might recieve from your opponents:

Q: Why can't you see the stars on the video footage? It is all black.
A: Look at pictures of earth from a satelight. Do you see any stars? Go ahead, browse the internet. All black right? Do you know why that is? We see the "stars" from earth because the light reflects off the atmospher. The moon virtually has no atmospher, so no light can reflect so we can see. The human eye can only see objects when light reflects off them. You cannot see stars from space because there is nothing that is reflecting the light. We cannot see the light directly because it is too week for our human eyes to pick up and register to our brains. Only high tech lenses (like on the Hubal telescope) can pick it up.

Q: If you play the footage faster than the regular speed, it looks like the austornauts and vehicles are going the "normal" speed on earth.
A: The moons gravity is less than that of earth. So they would seem to move slower than hear on earth. You can rate the gravity on the moon to the gravity on earth in a ratio. Using calculus (most people hate to do the math) you can find the right calculation to speed up the tapes so they are going at "normal" pace.

Q: Why haven't we gone to space since?
A: Easy question: budget. Congress determines NASA's budget. If they think that going to the moon is a waste of money and stupid, NASA won't be able to go to the moon. Lets face it. People (generally speaking) don't give a rat's *** about space. There is no profit in it. It is sad really. As it is, NASA is having a hard time getting the budget they need to complete the International Space Station.

My final point: We send people to space right? So why is it so hard to believe that we went the "few extra miles" to the moon?

Yes. There were six manned moon landing: Apollo 11, 12, 14, 15,16, & 17. Apollo 13 did not land due to very serious technical problems.

I encourage you to look at the educational and profession credentials of the people who claim that the six landings were a hoax. Then compare them to the those of the people who actually did go to the moon. The hoax-mongers are generally working outside their limits.

Additionally, examine the technical arguments at clavius.org and badastronomy.com.

Here are some very practical reasons why it wasn't a hoax.

1) If we did go to the moon, why have we never returned?

a) We did return. Five more times.

b) I used to go skiing at Crested Butte, Colorado every year. Because I don't go any more, does that mean that I never went?

c) The "moon race" was an extension of the cold war. It was mostly about national prestige. We got there first and achieved our primary objective. There was some good science: surveys, measurements, sample collection. But it was mostly about being there first. Once we achieved our primary objective, there was no political will to go back. There still isn't. Perhaps, if we discover He3 or something else valuable, there will be.

2) In 1972, there was a politically motivated burglary of a hotel room in the Watergate Hotel in Washington, D.C. There were only about six or eight people who knew about it. However, those people, including Richard M. Nixon, the President of the United States, failed to keep that burglary a secret. It exploded into a scandal that drove the President and a number of others from office.

If six or eight people couldn't keep a hotel room burglary a secret, then how could literally thousands of people could have kept their mouths shut about six faked moon landings? Not just one moon landing, but six of them!

3) Even if NASA and other government agencies could have faked the six moon landings well enough to fool the general public, they could NOT have fooled the space agency or military intelligence types in the USSR. The Soviets were just dying to beat us. If the landings were faked, the Soviets would have re-engineered their N-1 booster and landed on the moon just to prove what liars Americans are. Why didn't they? Because the landings were real and the Soviets knew it.

Although my wife's father performed fuel calculations for the original Apollo landing, I'll spare you that speech. Instead, I will encourage you to watch two programs. The first show is called Conspiracy Moon Landing that it currently showing on the National Geographic Channel and it pretty much obliterates all of the popular conspiracy theories.

I would also encourage you to watch a movie called Capricorn One. Made it 1978, it is a fictional story about a fake mission to Mars. Although it is a science fiction story, it is a good example of how utterly impossible it would be to fake a moon landing for any length of time.

12 men walked on the moon from 1969 to 1972 and we have neither the resources nor the technology to pull off that big of a hoax for so long. Hundreds of thousands of people have worked on the space program. It would be far easier to put someone on the moon than to try and fake it and keep it secret for nearly 40 years.

The landings came at a time when our space program was ultra competitive with the former Soviet Union. Remember how big of a deal it was when Sputnik was put into orbit? They had the technology to monitor our moon shots and transmissions. Don't you think they would have called us out if they had evidence that it was all fake?

Perhaps the most definitive proof of our trip to the moon is what we left behind. For the last 35+ years, scientists have been beaming lasers to the moon and measuring the return times. How are they doing this? The beams are reflected back by equipment left on the moon on at 3 different locations.

Case closed.

Everything Know Guide said is right except the star part. The reason you cannot see stars in the picture is the same reason that if you took a picture in the morning you would not see any stars. There is way too much light from the sun to see stars. The astronauts went to the moon at sunrise (on the moon). If they would have gone during the day it would have been way too hot, at night would have been way too cold. The reason the sky is dark like our night sky is because the moon has no atmosphere to disperse the light and make it look blue (or any other color).

you have have been given all of it incorrect. effective, the moon landing replace right into a hoax, even though it wasn't faked on the moon later or in a studio in Hollywood, or perhaps in the particular hangar at section fifty one. ok, unquestionably all people placed their aluminum foil guards on your WiFi and bluetooth instruments, i don't choose the government eavesdrop squad understanding I spilled the beans in this... The pretend moon landing replace into filmed on Mars approximately 1964. For obvious motives, that's the reason Ford all started making Mustangs around that element. --------------------------------------... damn. i replace into making up many of the stupidest stuff i might desire to arise with, and in the previous i might desire to place up it somebody stated that somebody already believes that and worse.

NASA sent several persons to the moon.

A lot of the images were captured with miniature video cameras developed by NASA.

Interestingly, pathologically lying within government institutions still exists.

I really don't understand people who think the moonlanding was a hoax. Do they think everything NASA says it has done since then is also a hoax? It's so weird.
