Discrimination is a fact of life. It is like bullying at high school, people will always feel the need to pick on something, it could be size, mannerisms, looks - the list goes on! The point is your sexuality is something that is personal and a part of you who cares about definitions! I have been secure in my sexuality since an early age, people tried to discriminate and bully at first, but as I never made an issue out of my sexuality people very soon learned they were only making asses out of themselves.
The short of it is, you are who you are and by trying to change that or getting depressed and going into self hate the only person you'll damage is you and what a waste that would be.

No. You need to accept things for what they are. You are gay and have to live with that. Unfortunately there are a lot of uneducated bigots out there that discriminate. On the flip side, there are several individuals that accept it and several companies that have a zero tolerance against discrimination in the workplace. If it is at work, look for a workplace where homosexuality is accepted. As people get older, they seem to be more mature about it. Keep you head up and be proud of who you are.
And to comment on another response in here. Being gay IS natural. You were born that way. Don't try to hide your true self by finding a woman and starting a family. I don't think Jesus Christ had a wife of children. I don't see these people condemning Him for that. Be proud and be strong.

I'm not gay, but I know people who have been through this, and did wish, momentarily for the most part, that they weren't gay.
That's why I don't get people who think homosexuality is a choice. Why would someone choose to be discriminated against - not to mention the occasional bashing?
I'm so sorry, MusicLover. You should never have had to go through that. I'm very glad you failed.

no, i don't give a s.h.i.t. what others think. the more i'm pushed the stronger i become. i am absolutely happy with the person i am and i wouldn't change for anything. i honestly don't feel discrimination because i refuse to let it happen. people may hate me because i'm a jerk, but never because i'm a fag! being gay has never kept me from doing anything, quite the opposite i've tried harder to make sure no one can blame my gayness for any failure i may have (and those are few and far between! lololol)

No, the only wish I've ever had along those lines would be to force those who harass me and others to have to go through what they put US through for a week or two.

Yeah, I've suffered discrimination personified. But it just makes me a stronger person, a stronger lesbian at that.

Well, maybe you ought to stop and think a little more deeply, and say to yourself: "maybe being gay IS NOT NATURAL! maybe I should try and see what's wrong with me, and try to become a normal human being, and start a life with a woman, and form a normal family ..."

NO. I have worked hard to accept myself and it has been worth the journey. Besides, if it wasn't one thing, it would be another!
