Surely there is an old family tale that has been told. Tell it with embellishment, using adjectives, adverbs, etc. Give details.

If I were doing it, I might choose a story about staying in a campground when a bear attacked someone .... or people thought that must have happened..... because my brother was screaming it out in his sleep while having a nightmare about a bear attacking him! From the right approach and lots of details ... it could be worked out as a mystery leading up to the punchline.

Or I might choose the time I found myself on a glass-bottom boat ride on the East China sea in a rainstorm when I was in Okinawa.

Think about your own family experiences or stories you've been told. Something will come to you.

Tell them the story of the Donner party. (I had originally written Dahmer party. It's sick that I went there so fast.)
