In most every living thing it seems to reproduce its own DNA as much as possible is THE most imperative goal. I'd like to think that as intelligent beings we can have higher priorties, but I love sex more than anything else. pls respond

If an organism doesn't reproduce it becomes extinct. The theory of evolution tells us that the survivors in life's struggle are the ones that get to reproduce and their offspring have the genes that helped their parents to survive and reproduce so the drive to reproduce is programmed into each successful organisms DNA. There is one exception to this rule. Certain social animals cooperate rather than compete. Some members of a group will not reproduce themselves but help to feed and care for the young of others. Sometimes this cooperation is gained by force as when the alpha male and female of a wolf pack won't allow anyone else in the pack to mate. Sometimes it seems voluntary as with certain scrub jays who refrain from mating but help feed the chicks of their brothers or sisters.

So the message for humans is that while we need to reproduce to keep the race from dying out, not every one has to do so. By being a productive member of society you can indirectly help others to raise their children. If you can't live without sex then there are all sorts of ways to engage in that without causing pregnancy.

Well then perhaps you're not as intelligent as you think you are and ought to keep it in your pants. Sex ought to be sacred and reserved for someone specilal. Try having as a higher priority, love the lord, and love thy neighbor as thyself. why reproduce if all you do is create another ignoramus like yourself? There is nothing wrong at all with loving sex, that's why God sends you a marriage partner 'til death do you part. Somehow, I don't get that
vibe from you, or you wouldn't be asking this question. Hopefully you'll find the right one and realize just how special and sacred the ultimate sexual experinece is.

It is what you leave behind that counts, such as a child. But It is what you teach that child that's most important. Like right from wrong, respect for his/her self and to respect others. Basically it is not just the child but everything you do while you are alive it is a good reputation, family name and the respect of others. It is these things and many other things like what you accomplish while your here. This is what people remember when you are gone. So like I said, It's what you leave behind that counts.

reproduction seems to me as more of a natural tendency/instinct, more than a priority, as no one tells humans nor animals how to perform the reproductive act. but as creatures of thought, let's produce and reproduce more information to improve the lives of people (like invest space program research money into feeding hungry mouths on earth)...sorry, this is me being idealistic :) but yeah, let's all think that life isn't just about survival/reproduction but all creation/upliftment.

Abraham Maslow came up with the notion of "hierarchy of needs" . It is a complete list if things we need to satisfy before we can move on to other need. Any psychology book will give you a much better reference than I can...
