Supplies:

Large pumpkin
Mini-packages of candy bars (enough for each child to have 3-5 tosses)
Preparation:

Cut a large hole in the top of the pumpkin. Scrape and clean the pumpkin. This is best done the day of the party for a fresh pumpkin.

Game Play:

Line up the children to take turns tossing candy bars into the pumpkin. Kids keep the candy bars that they get in the pumpkin. Give consolation prizes!

that's just one game...here's a website with much much more ideas for all ages. Good luck!

don't start out by using a Halloween theme. it will quickly become tradition and old even faster than that. Let his birthday be his birthday that just happens to be on halloween. Maybe celebrate it on the weekend with the family. don't worry about getting "things" kids don't really know the difference. Just make it a special quality time.

Make a pumpkin pinata! That's kind of original! Have a Halloween looking cake too! He has a very unique birthday!

Everyone in my family has put a cake in front of their kids on the first birthday, so that the kid can demolish the cake. You can use a smaller cake for the 1 year old and a bigger cake to serve guests.

What kinds of lights u got around there, make 'em droop everywhere, u can make tomb stones out of either, cardboard or styrofoam. U can make Blood out of RED food coloring. U can even mix a little karo syrup in with it to make it thicker.

Good Luck with ur PARTY, and HAVE SOME FUN!!!

don't go overboard. this party is more for the adults than for the one year old. Keep the celebration to the immediate family and the people realy important in your life, for what you are realy celebrating is that your son survived the toughest part of his life: His first year of life, outside your womb.
