Welcoming services for new residents in Minneapolis?

Does anyone know of a 'welcome wagon' type program for new residents in Minneapolis? My mom is moving there and doesn't know anyone and sometimes these services have neat offers or can tell you things about the area, etc. How would I find something like that and ask them to visit her? Thank you!

Maybe you should call... 612-673-3000 ask them about something like that... usually stuff like that is pretty localized, and the city hall can hook you up.
