Yes, it will work, but do yourself a favor and learn on a full-scale guitar. It's only two inches longer and one day, when you've learned to play it, you'll want a better quality guitar and you won't find many good short-scale guitars out there. My Mom is only 5" 4" and she's always played a full-scale guitar.

Guitar size has nothing to do with your height. Any guitar that feels good to you fits you. 22.75 in. is very short for a guitar and is generally considered a half-size, or one made for children. It's also about the size of a baritone ukulele. Hey... Tiny Tim was a tall guy and he played a soprano uke. Izzy Kamakawiwo'ole also played ukulele and he's the biggest guy I've ever seen.

(AC\DC) Angus Young has that same issue and he plays a Gibson S.G its a full scale guitar, and it is one of the "smaller" full scale guitars. the reason he plays S.G.'s is he is so short and any other guitar makes him look smaller than he is. i think he is under 5"
5"5' is not that short. i think you could handle a standard guitar if you try it. a friend of mine is real short and he is one of the best guitar players i know, he can play anything on guitar. his height never stopped him!!!!

absolutely, lenghth wise,i think for woman whats more important is nut width (the width of the fret board, measuring from the top,or nut) because generally woman have smaller hands and it can be hard to barre chords and stuff but it should be proportional,so go for it
