Hi
There is two ways to remove wax from carpet.
1/ Use the edge of a butter knife to carefully scrape off or lift up as much solid wax as you can .Use a dry clean white terrycloth place it over the wax spot then heat it with a iron on low setting because most homes have polyester carpet, and if the iron gets too hot, it'll melt the carpet. Keep checking the spot every ten seconds or so, moving the terrycloth so that a clean spot is on the carpet.
2/ Which is the better way. Use the edge of a butter knife to carefully scrape off or lift up as much solid wax as you can Heat up a full kettle of water and pour it slowly on the carpet at the same time with a wet vac vacuum up the water. Keep on doing this until the wax is removed.

Place a double thickness of paper towel over the wax. Run across the paper towel with a hot iron. The wax will melt and be absorbed by the paper towel.

sure fire way, I have done it numerous times and it works like a charm: get some butcher paper or wax paper, then set your iron to low and place the paper over the wax, lightly set the iron on it and the paper will absorb the wax, you will need to move the paper to a clean spot on the sheet each time you iron it....good luck

I've heard that ice will work. I guess it freezes the wax and makes it easier to pull off.

Try Goo-Gone, which works wonders with new or old stains! You can get it at Wallgreens or CVS and sometimes Wal-Mart!
