In the long run no, but as of right now yeah he needs to sit out 2-3 weeks. Batch is a good backup and right now its not worth risking a 23-25 yr old QB who has already brought home a championship especially for a 2-5 season so far........

Batch should have played, but beyond that you sound like an idiot. First off the Steelers don't need a great QB to lead them. They need an avg at most. Not saying against him I'm saying that the team as a whole is that good. That is why when he is having a good game and the D is on they have no problems. Yeah he screwed up some yesterday and had they waited a week he proably wouldn't have had such a bad game. On the other hand the D wasn't creating very many turnovers to help make up for his mistakes.

At 2-5, the Steelers days as a "power team" are long gone, but Cowher should have played Batch. Roethlisberger clearly wasn't 100% today.

Did anybody forget that the Raiders didn't even have 100yds. total offense? Yeah, the Steelers defense again played well enough to win, but the offense needs to get their stuff on the same page & show a little poise.

You realize if blows to the head disqualified you as an elite quarterback the niners with Steve Young and the Cowboys with Aikman wouldn't have gone anywhere.

It IS true what others are saying, Ben Rothlisbuerger is probably the best Steeler QB since Bradshaw. (And he will be even better than Terry, when he wins his FIFTH SB, OK? Now SHUT UP!)

Its a "let down" year for Steeler fans OK?, relax! You DID get the FIFTH SB! That was awesome! (You DID have help from corrupt officials, sure, but like Dick Nixon's aide said in 1960, you "stole it fair and square...")

Rothlisbuerger will be a quality QB for the Steelers for many years to come, he is the "Man of Destiny" for the black and gold..... (and this season, you must be way too heavily into yer "bong" to even think for a second that the Steelers qualify as a "power team")

I think the team is mostly missing it's power running game. All a team like the Steelers need is a QB who is smart enough not to make mistakes or botch the transfer of the ball into the RBs breadbasket.

Right now he is trying to make plays, and you can see what is happening. He is overrated anyways.

I think there should be a concussion limit. These guys have to provide for themselves and their families when the football money stops. Cowher was greedy!
