That's not a real peice of 18k gold jewelry. It's most likely electro-plated...which is only a thin coating of 18k "paint" over top of another type of metal. If it's rusting, it's not probably some sort of junk metal. There's really no way to fix this unless you can get it re-plated...NOT worth the money!! I have NEVER had a peice of electroplated jewelry NOT flake or start coming off...I stick with the real thing now.

If you have a piece of jewelry that is supposedly 18k and it is rusting, its not 18k. Even if it is 18k and properly alloyed, the alloys used to make 18k do not create rust (nickel, copper, zinc). The piece is probably made very poorly and plated. I hope you didnt pay much for it because you got screwed if you did.
