Ok I believe that this dollar may be worth more than $1. I noticed one other question on here about this and they didn't give a value. They just said not to let this dollar out your sight. So is it worth anything?

Mint condition or not, my hunch is that it's worth $1. Now if you had an 1869 dollar bill...

I don't have an answer but I do find it funny that I have a 5 dollar bill from 1969 that also has a yellow back. I realize this thread is 10 years old but I thought I'd share that.

Hi. I'm a coin and currency dealer in the Midwest. The CORRECT answer is that your note is unfortunately still just worth one dollar...it's not an error; your note is suffering from too much sun. Sunlight fades the green ink that the government uses on the reverse side of one dollar notes to an yellowish orange color when left in the sun for an extended period of time...it fades from green to orange to yellow. If you don't believe me, you can do the same thing yourself by putting a dollar on a window sill. Sorry, but it's not worth anything more than a buck. Keep it for a conversation piece. Hope this info helped.

One of two things, one is you have an error note where the printing on the back of the note was not completed.#2 someone fooled with the back of the bill with a chemical. What to do go see a currency dealer and find out. As to not letting the bill out of your sight, the person must be paranoid. Anyway the dealer will look at it with you there anyway. Hiding in backrooms with someones treasure, is from the movies. Take it to a currency dealer who has a store. I can't give you an address to one close to you for i don't know where you are. You could Email Denly's of Boston a well know dealer and professional also good guy,ask their opinion. denlys@aol.com
