If you don't know about Walden Pond, it was written by Thoreau I believe about basically just this idea. Getting so fed up with society, that he basically said "f**k it" and decided to live alone in seclusion.

Thoreau was a fraud. Here he was, pretending in his book to be all isolated and living alone, when in reality he would cruise into town once a week so his Mama could cook for him and do his laundry. What a hypocrite.

The idea of it, though, sounds good. And Walden Pond is a beautiful place to isolate yourself, if you get the urge.

not sure you can say thoreau was a fraud.. he was still living alone most of the time, and taking advantage of the convenience of being near society. pretty smart.

anyway, yeah society is bullshit. and i say that because of these things called JOBS. jobs suck. and it might be nice to live farther apart from other people, like they did in the 1900's, just to have more privacy and space... but actually avoiding ALL society? meh.. there's a lot of good things about society. i guess it would be nice to be able to live "alone" and then pop into society when you wanted.
