Please assist me in buying a mobo.
i'm confused with those 945s and 965s.
my budget is 8k(max).
Now i really got a platform and that too ASUS.
But their models are confusing.
P5LD2, P5LD2 V, P5LD2 VM, P5LD2 VM SE, P5B, P5B VM, P5B V, P5B E, P5B E Plus.
I need to decide among the above mentioned.
I am planning to use C2D E6300 in contrast to 7900gt (no sli) with the mobo.
Will be Glad if anyone could be of help.

THANKS.

Don't know why the first guy is calling the 965 old, it was released the same month as the 975. Anyway I would recommend the 965, it is simply better for the Core 2 Duos than the 945.

those chipsets were old the 965 was very much like the 975 i dont know why people are going backwards and not useing a 975 and why when the core 2 duo came out they reintroduced the 965 the 975 serial ata2 controler was the best i tested i was using the abit aw8 max with maxtor 16mb it had better performance than rapters
