It shouldn't be a problem. When our uterus contracts and expands as it sheds its lining into the "blood" we get during our peiod, it can REALLY be painful, to the point of not being able to go to school, and its like...urgh!!!! But to be safe, you could visit a gynaecologist, though I'ld say don't need to waste the money unless it's really really bad and frequent, like even bofore, near the end or after your period. Hope that helps!:)

Is the pain followed by a release of blood clots from your body? Or an increase in the menstrual flow? If so, the pain is probably contractions of the uterus to make sure that all of the uterine lining is released from your body.
Gentle, regular exercise is a good idea to help this. I used to have severe cramping with my period, which was greatly improved by a regular yoga practice. Every so often I get really busy, and my yoga practice gets less regular. I notice that my period is more uncomfortable when that happens. I have had friends say the same thing about walking--when they do it regularly, they have less painful periods. Give some regular exercise a try and see if it helps. Good luck!

I have the same problem. I start hurting like a week before I start my period. I would hurt so bad when I was in school that I could not go a lot of times when I was on my period. And I finally at to go to the doctor and she gave me muscle relaxers. They help so much. So I suggest you to go see a doctor. I dont know why the other person told you to go only if it was really bad because it was expensive. In this day and time there is no need for any one to go around in pain. Especially over a period. But I know what you are going through and I suggest you to go. You will feel better. I promise. I just know what you are going through and it is awful at times. I hope you feel better!!!!

Are you generally healthy? Do you eat a good diet with lots of veggies and so on? Get a good nights sleep? Is the pain in your stomach (waistline) or your lower abdomen? Are you sexually active? If you have had unprotected sex it could be HPV, chlamydia, or several other things. Have you had an OB/GYN check-up? You should evaluate all of this and then decide what to do. Best wishes.
