I am going on a cruise in February. And I want to get a tan before I go. I've never gone before and I don't know anything about tanning! Can anyone help me out? When should I start, how long should I go for? Am I suppost to wear sunscreen? What is the difference between the beds (I've heard of Wolf beds)? Any advice?! FYI, My skin is very white, and I also burn easily. Thanks for all the help in advance!!

Tanning is very bad for your skin. Have you considered alternatives to tanning?I went to Hawaii and had a spray tan applied a few days prior to departure. I had a dark even tan that looked great and lasted the whole vacation. I avoided the lasting damage that a tanning booth would have caused. Some other draw backs to tanning beds are uneven tanning, burning, itchy dry skin, and cost. The spray tan was only $30. There are also many good self tanning lotions that give you an all over tan look with out streaking. Any way you go don't forget to bring a high SPF factor sun screen on vacation and apply often. There is nothing worse than a trip ruined because of sunburn.
Good luck and have fun on your trip!!!!

I used to work at a tanning salon so I suggest a tanning lotion with a bronzer in it you have to use a lotion it helps you tan faster and keep your tan longer and I would start out in a level one bed the first time for 7 min cause you are fair if you do not notice any redness bump it up three min each time you tan till you reach the full 15 min I

You can go to a tanning salon and ask for a mystic tan. This is an airbrush tan that will not damage your skin but will help minimize a burn on the cruise.. Wear sun screen and be careful. Pre-mature aging is no joke- neither is cancer.

ok i got you on this one. for your 1st time go for a open bed and about 10 min. you can start when ever but i would say the sooner the better. no sunscreen but there is a oil you can use to help you tann. also tell them that you burn easily.
