You replace it with another. If we didn't have our obsessions, what else would we do with our time?

Replace it with another...kind of like hobbies, some go from one to the next, yeah they are always there to come back to but you do not do all of them at 100% forever, you move around just like obsessions.

I replaced all my obsessions with others for YEARS. I wonder if I'll EVER get rid of my obsessions instead of replacing it.

I've always believed you replace one obsession with another. I see it as a spectrum, from 1 through 10, with 10 being most extreme. There are those who are generally classified as "extremist" who go from 1 to 10 in a micro-second and then there are those who can balance their way through life, sometimes going to extreme but always balancing it back out with moderate acting.

Obsession vs passion? Obsessions might be replaced, but some passions remain for life.

Replace it with another. That much I know. Just the way it is, at least for me.

I always just replace... Like, I can never get over a guy until I found another one to be infatuated with.

I used to be obsessed with JTT. Now, he's okay, but not what he was to me. But like I said, I have a lifelong obsession with guys with long hair. I think you have to be more obsessed about something else before you get over the first. You need to talk about something man?

You do get over it sometimes.

Like in my case...I was in love with someone for a few months in a one-sided ordeal and it just passed over.

For awhile, I was fine and dry of any emotional attachments...and then I found another obsession.

However, it was being over that first obsession that showed how one can really get over one.
