dem or rep? which are you...and why. SPECIFICALLY!

do you believe that if we keep voting for democrates that we'll eventually become a communist country.

what do you think about taxes? do we need to raise them or lower them? seriously think about it, don't just say "i want them lower because then i don't have to pay as much". I'm really curious as to how educated people are about all this.

leave other random comments about any of these topics and try not to be too biased pleeeease, it's annoying. If you're not sure about something then don't say it.

give me a thumbs up or thumbs down please.

how is it that the dems are going to turn us into communists, but the current repulicans are listening to our phone calls, lying to us left and right about foreign weapons, and what it takes to keep us "safe". do you feel any safer since 9/11? i dont, and if you do, you're an idiot.

i dont support abortion, but i dont think i have the right to make it illegal for someone else. its a woman's choice what happens inside her body.

and if you want to say the bible is the reason that gays shouldnt get married, then read the following:

book of leviticus

1:19 god likes the smell of a bull burning as a sacrifice
25:44 you can have slaves if they are from neighbor countries
11:10 eating shellfish is an abomination
21:20 you cant approach god's altar if you dont have perfect sight
24: 10-16 lots of stupid crap

exodus

21:7 you can sell your daughter into slavery
35:2 if your neighbor works on the sabbath, you're obligated to kill him

so, if you want to cite the bible, tell me why your gay abomination thing is ok, but all of these are wrong. either its all ok, or not. no picking what you like and what you dont from the bible.

I am a Libertarian who leans to the right.

I do not think this country will ever become communist, no matter how many Democrats are elected. Socialist is another story. Ever since FDR, this country has slid slowly towards a socialist State.

When it comes to taxes, less is always better, but they are inevitable non the less. The question with taxes is how they should be spent. I do not believe it is the responsibility of any government to socially take care of people who have the means of taking care of themselves. If you are healthy enough to cash in a welfare check, than you are healthy enough to get a job. I know that there are people who are old or disabled, and I think these people deserve limited assistance, but just because you are an only parent with three kids should not be reason enough to "be taken care of." That said, the taxes that are raised need to go towards things that make it possible for this country to exist; infrastructure and military. All social programs should be up to the State to provide.

Independent. I weigh the issues and the candidates. Basically, if they agree with me and I agree with them, it's a MATCH! I don't subscribe straight icket to any one party.

For the gubernatorial elsection, I don't like the Rep. candidate, nor the Dem, nor the Libertarian. I like the Kinkster... I like what he's said, so far... especially in support of teachers... and I love his sense of humor. I figure, since most politicians are clowns... why not have a real one (humorist)?

For me, it's all about the issues, the candidate, and the candidate's track record.

Re: Taxes... Of course, I hate paying taxes. But I see WHY they are necessary... a necessary evil, I guess. As far as tax increases go, my approval (or lack, thereof) just really depends on the reason being given for raising those taxes.

I am a registered Democrat but I hold many moderate tendencies. I do not believe the continued support of Demcratic candidates will make us a communist country, nor do I think that continued support of Republican candidates will turn us into a fascist monarchy or a Baptist Police State.

I think we should raise taxes, because I think the national debt is the single most dangerous challenge to our continued economic superiority. The interest on the debt is current consuming 20% of our total federal revenues. Think what we could do if we weren't throwing that money away.

The only thing worse than a 'tax-and-spend' liberal is a 'don't tax and spend anyway' pseudo-conservative.

It is sad that the democrats have become so negative about this country. Instead of protecting the values of our ancestors they are willing to trade them away in exchange for delaying terrorist activities in this country. Just as the 51,000 lives lost in Nam were wasted because liberals were against the war instead of how it was conducted once again the same mistakes are being made. The taxes should be a flat tax which although the rate is adjusted for wealth to make those wealthier pay a higher percentage of tax it should take away all the deductions. The ability to take off interest paid on real estate has only propped up inflation of housing cost and given the wealthy better tax shelters.
Both parties have their dishonest members but the liberal extreme elements have taken the Democrats further from the center of our beliefs than can be justified.

No bias, just opinion based on years of observation and examination of the facts.

I am definitely NOT a Democrat. They earned their "Tax and Spend" label and will show us why if they dominate Congress in the near future. Taxes should be lowered (25-28% top rate) to the extent that tax policy promotes essential growth required for greater tax revenues (a concept Dems will never ever understand).

That's right Dems, you can lower taxes and increase revenues ($521 billion greater revenue in the last 2 years alone). I don't vote on tax policy based on how much I will save, but for the beneficial impact it will have for our country and its long term interests. The "Robin Hood" philosophy of the Dems never has worked and never will. Strangling the goose that lays the golden eggs (the wealthier among us) will result in greater hardship for all, but Dems tend to be so shortsighted that they just can figure that out (or just don't care because it buys votes in the short run by fanning the flames of class warfare). I feel like the Dems are into some type of separatist movement. By the way Howard Dean speaks, one would never know that the upper 1% of taxpayers pay 37% of federal income taxes. They seem to want class warfare in order to buy votes. They rely upon the votes of the most misinformed, unknowledgeable, and gullible of society in order to get elected and that is just sad.

Currently, both parties are spending as if we had a limitless supply of increasing tax revenues. Unfortunately we will all pay for this gluttonous rampage with a serious fiscal hangover.

Bottom line: Dems tend to be softer on crime, defense, trial lawyers (many of whom should be in jail themselves), as well as a myriad of other important issues. They are relatively spineless and would rather choose appeasement over acting in a resolute and decisive manner (regardless of what the rest of the world thinks).

They will never grasp how to manage tax policy (it must be some type of birth defect that they share). They are leaning further and further towards serious Robin Hood-like ideals. Dems tend to be very misguided and uninformed, although most think of themselves as intellectually superior (which I find quite amusing).

I lean towards Libertarian more closely than Republican. Bring on the next "Tea Party."

i cant stand cetain aspects of either side, and i really agree with others. right now, the republicans are just horrid though. there are better republicans than the ones in office.

taxes - the people that make the most should get the FEWEST tax cuts. i have no problem with taxes if they're reasonable and going toward something important.

wiretapping without a warrant is against the constitution.
if God wanted to live in the white house, he'd have built it in heaven. the bible should have nothing to do with the government, if we had a president that was telling ppl "Allah told me to be president", he'd be out of office within an hour of saying it, yet the evangelicals out there dont seem to see a conflict of interest with a president that spouts off about the what god wants. you cant use it to keep gays from getting married, etc. they're americans, and they deserve the same things the rest of us can get.

there were no wmd's, whats the point in tax cuts when we need to repay a bajillion dollars for the war effort that accomplished nothing? we're no safer, Katrina proved the office is incompetent in domestic affairs, everyone experienced in our military has spoken against the plans laid by bush and rumsfield, cheney shot a man in the face, haliburton (which cheney's butt buddies) were found to be abusing their government contracts, which is denying our soldiers the things they need.......

the list just goes on and on. there are better repubs out there, this is my point.

and a lot of democrats are way too weak in some respects. i dont want criminals in rehab, i want them dead. gun control should focus more on teaching proper respect for them, and punishing those involved in gun related crime, by putting them to death.

theres lots of other things too, and i dont consider myself on one side or the other, but right now, the democrats are a much better choice. i dont think Kerry would have been an amazing president, but he'd have been better than bush. if you cant pronounce "nuclear", you shouldnt have nukes. the man has been in office 6 years and hasnt learned to say it properly yet. and ppl called kerry a "flip flopper" or whatever..... well, when you're amidst an argument, and new evidence is presented, most ppl tend to look at it and re-evaluate their decisions, not just stick to the same thing and ignore the new facts. we all wanted to go into Iraq when we were fed lies about them being tied to 9/11 and wmd's, but it was a lie, plain and simple. so, when someone says "well, Saddam is a tyrant who kills his own ppl..... yeah, so is castro... why didnt we go in there? why arent we in north korea? we KNOW they have weapons, and so does IRAN.... odd how we only went into the country that had Bush Sr.'s old enemy in it, and has the most oil....

republicans suck, democrats blow. the whole world sucks, i think maybe Canada sucks the least.

Libertarian all the way! I've been a registered Libertarian for 20 years.

You should be able to keep control over your own life, that's what I believe. That's what Libertarians stand for.

The Libertarian party is the only major party that promises to abolish the IRS, so that's worth my vote just in that!

Democrat or Republican? You have the same end result: Higher taxes, more crime, less freedom.

not quite, it really is more effective like this Democrat vs. Republican= established authorities administration of your existence to the smallest element vs. own duty. also, i comprehend diverse Democrats who're wealthy outdoors of Hollywood. What you're spouting is the left wing mantra that has been round for decades.

I can’t believe people are still worried about a communist take over of some sort. Was not a danger in the 50’s and is not now.

I don’t mind paying taxes if they are levied fair. Breaks for the rich are not fair. They just make the not so rich have to pay more than their share.

I have no reason to vote for any republican this year. Our present administration has done nothing right so far, I have no reason to believe it will change. I vote straight democrat this year.
