I need to repair a window by placing boards over it and paint it. It is about 40 ft above ground my ladder is 28ft. Renting boom truck is very expensive. I can buy 40 ft ladder but I will have to drive it on new pickup for 7- miles to get it to the building and I am afreaid that it may not be most stable option. Winter is comming and I do not have any clever ideas...Any suggestions. Please consider the cost..

Just call a glass window company and ask them if they would come out and give you a free estimate to fix it....(they may want your business and let the problem be theirs) Surely they have a means of fixing this sort of problem (good luck)
P.S. Since winter is coming, You either pay them or your electric company more!
PSS..Around here, we have a rental company that will rent anything from.......It's called somebody's tool and supply .
and I think they deliver what is needed,,,Maybe you have such a company...
